Bert Marcus Productions and Giant Interactive have announced that the definitive electronic dance music film, WHAT WE STARTED, is available for preorder (apple.co/whatwestarted) now on iTunes in over 100 countries ahead of its release in theaters, on iTunes and On Demand March 23rd.
The film had a red-carpet premiere on March 22nd at The Regal South Beach with superstars Martin Garrix, Carl Cox, David Guetta, Tiësto and more in attendance. Directly after the film, a Q&A regarding the documentary, with Martin Garrix, Carl Cox, Tiësto and more, will be hosted inside the theater for fans and media.
WHAT WE STARTED is a critically acclaimed documentary detailing the birth, resurgence and history of dance music while featuring the careers of heavyweight electronic dance music artists, including Martin Garrix, Carl Cox, Erick Morillo, Moby, David Guetta, Afrojack, Paul Oakenfold, Seth Troxler, and Tiësto. There are multiple cameos from musical superstars, including Usher and Ed Sheeran, who help exemplify the power and reach that electronic dance music has over mainstream music genres.
The closing of Space, Carl Cox’s Ibiza home for 15 years, left Carl with a chance to dedicate valuable time and energy towards other forthcoming projects/shows, as well as telling his story through this documentary. The icon behind hits like his 1996 EP Two Paintings and a Drum, and his 6th studio album, All Roads Lead To the Dancefloor, is gearing up to make his way to the West Coast for a special Factory 93 daytime party in the heart of Downtown LA, followed by an epic after-party at Exchange LA Saturday 06/31.
